About 21 years ago, I swapped out the Technics' stock green LED for the quartz pitch lock to a RadioShack bought red LED. Just for the heck of it, I bought this blue LED for the pitch lock and it fits, works great and is very BRIGHT!!!!
I sort of wanted a purple rectangle LED but RS doesn't sell it. Even though, I am definitely diggin this blue one! No resistor was needed.

2 LED's would have been nice to be able to complete my other 1200 turntable. But it is cheap for a couple of bucks.

This is slightly higher than normal rectangular LEDs. If you are replacing older rectangular LEDs, you will have to either remove spacers, or be ok with them not being flush with the panel.

Amazingly bright with a 9V battery and 330ohm resister. Got them both at Radio Shack. It appears to have a ball of light around it.

Very easy to play with! Hook this up with a 9V battery and a 330 Ohm resistor for a nice little light that will surprise you. Remember your polarity! Make a little flashlight if you want.

If you're looking for a rectangular LED that runs about 3.2v at 20ma, look no further! Unless, that is, you're looking for a color other then blue. In that case, you should really consider looking further. Purchasing this LED with the intent of being red, green, yellow or white is inadvisable and possibly illegal in some municipalities. I found this LED to include the perfect number of leads for a light diode, cut to a very convenient length. The edges are roughly 90 degrees, all the way around (excepting the ones that are roughly 270 degrees, inversely). When powered properly, this LED produces a very pleasing glow, in a very LED like fashion. You might recognize this glow from many popular movies, such as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Pulp Fiction and The Matrix (Keanu Reeves is not included). When underpowered it looks exactly like many other colors of rectangular LED! Versatile!

Caution, failure to use a proper resistor in series with this LED may cause release of the magic smoke that makes electronics work. If this happens, you may either buy a new one, or attempt to consult a professional in Electronic Smoke Reintroduction (ESR). Do not taunt this LED, nor should you put it in your eye. Trust me.
