As I read this online catalog listing, one thing missing is the Voltage, in the product description.
I did not actually buy this product, but I am familiar with the Radio Shack parts drawers, and I know the voltage will be listed on the package itself. However, it would be a great convenience if the voltage could be listed here, online. I would be running this product directly off of AAA alkaline batteries, without any driver circuit, in a bicycle lighting system.

this is a truly awesome part. i am using it for a power indicator on my temperature/humidity collecter. i am using the first LED included to serve as a general power indicator and the second LED included to serve as a indicator that the microcontroller is recieving enough power to start.

its a very bright led, but the polarity is backwards from what i learned.

I used this LED for an awesome Halloween costume I designed. I used a TIP31 transistor and hooked them up to my iPod and a boom box to create a costume with lights that flicker to the music. These LEDs are great! They are so bright, they looked incredible in the Halloween night. The only problem is that they have a narrow 16 degree angle. Still, an awesome LED. Must buy!
