Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

I bought the wireless controller, and every time I would move the analog stick to the left or right, it would go down instead. I figured hey, it's probably just something wrong with the wireless. But nope, I bought a wired Gigaware controller and have the same problem. Will never buy this again, nor recommend to anyone.

Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

I bought a set of these but they were under a different brand name (I believe it was REACT) also they were wireless and took triple A's. The best part of these are the D-Pad as you can do perfect rotations, diagonals, etc which makes it great for fighting games. My only gripes were the very tiny and crowded Start Select buttons and the fact that the Triangle, Circle, Square, X buttons were also rather small. If Radio Shack / React / Gigaware ever decide to make their own aftermarket of the Wii Classic Controller (AND THEY SHOULD), this is the D-Pad design they oughta use. I'd say it's even better than Nintendo's D-Pad, since I can press it without the fear of breaking it.

Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

I was looking for a cheap controller to use with my ps2. So i bought this one.I'm impressed cause the pad is way better than i expected, It's really good for playing some fighting games. It has probably the best pad i've ever seen on a 3rd party controller. There's no rumble freature, But it doesn't really matters at all.The buttons are quite good too, Not too soft, Not too hard. Though they are a bit smaller in comparision to a original controller buttons, But still they aren't hard to press or anything, so i have no complains about the size. The macro works well even with PSX games, Though i don't use it.The worst thing is that the digital mode is set as default. And the analog button does nothing. (In some games)This means that you won't be able to use the thumbsticks with PSX games, Neither with some ps2 ones (Note that Ps2 games that use analog mode as default [I.e. "Katamari Damacy/Devil May Cry/God Hand/Okami. etc."] work with the thumbsticks, However some like "Garou: Mark of the Wolves" and most PSX games [I.e: "Rival Schools/Castlevania: Symphony of the Night."] don't recognize the analog button (Though, There are PSX games which must be played using the thumbsticks [I.e. "Ape Escape") In this case you can use the thumbsticks, Otherwise you can only use the pad.)I would had liked to see more support of the compatibility of this controller. I guess that would be my only complain about it.It would had been a perfect controller if it had a better analog support.Still, It's really good for "[$].

Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

Aside from the fact that there is no rumble feature to be had here, there is little that diminishes the quality this humble 3rd party controller. The right analog stick on my controller does squeak a little, but it doesn't interfere or hinder the gameplay, and its impact is negligible. I've played video games for 20 years without a macro, so it doesn't bother me at all that programming them is difficult. Who cares? Real hardocre gamers shouldn't be leaning on macros anyway.

Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

            Were to begin...
1st, you can't set a macro to input a single button multiple times (ex - O button 3x's).

2nd, there isn't a turbo (wouldn't be a big deal if not for example 1).

3rd, Can not set a macro to repeat.

4th, Macro's are not input time sensitive. (does not recognize pauses between input commands, spams through macro at a set speed ignoring any commands that occur after an action that requires a set amount of time to complete.)

            5th, No macro on off.

All in all, I would not have bought this controller if I knew beforehand what I know now.

I got the 2nd controlle for my 4 yr old and she was able to break it. One of the thumb movement pieces broke off. Go figure. I did not think that she was that strong. She still is able to use it and I am not getting another one. The Sony one that came with the game is doing fine and my 8yr old uses that one. So you decide. I would recommed the gig controller for mature audience.

How can a company provide the wrong install instructions for their own stuff? Just buy something at radioshack and you will see. There are posts all over the internet that help with the setup since the provided install doesnt even work. Wow, radioshack is not going to be around much longer with this poor excuse for a product.... If this says anything about their other products then I pray for another company to pick up the slack.... good thing is they wouldnt have to set their standards high at all to surpass radioshacks quality..... I used to love shopping here, now im better off digging in the dump......

Comments about Gigaware® Controller for PS2® and PlayStation®:

I was looking for a replacement for my original ps2 controller since it was malfunctioning. Like any ps2 gamer knows there are almost no good 3rd parties controllers in the market so I was kind of reluctant to buy anything but an original sony ps2 controller. I went to radioshack looking for the wireless logitech ps2 controller which they had but saw this one right beside the logitech controller. I asked an employee if I could open it and see how it felt in my hands. It felt alright and all the buttons felt almost exactly like the original sony controller. The analog stick feel and permform almost identically to the original ps2. Most third party controllers have the problem of making the r3 and l3 bottons really hard to press, not this one. The preasure needed to press them is the same needed for the original sony controller. Another thing worth mentioning is the d-pad, it works just like it should. Most 3rd party fail in this area making it hard to play games because when you press up or down for example the pad sends wrong signals sending to the game up + right etc. This is not the case with this control, it sends the correct signal, great for fighting games like mortal kombat or marvel.

The only downside I found was that this controller doesn't have rumble or vibration. Do to the lack of this feature the controllers weights less the than the sony controller and feels really lite to the hand. Also The instructions that came with it are kind of vague explaining how the macro feature works.

If you need a cheap 3rd party wired controller for your ps2 and you don't mind not having the rumble feature this is the one to buy.
