I first went to the Radio Shack store in the Staunton Mall, but they did not have in stock, and looked it up on the computer and said there was one in stock and suggested I ordered it on line; so I did and it doesn't work.

I ordered the wrong item, yes my error. But lack of web / brick and mortar cooperation left me no place to return the item and stuck with a product I couldn't use.

Despite the fact that this battery is said to be compatible (and looks exactly like) with the original from the radio it does not work. The reason is because the polarity of the replacement does not match that of the original. In other words, when plugged together the Red wire connects to the Black wire and the Black wire connects to the Red wire. The way the plug is designed you cannot simply roll the connecter over and plug it in so like color wires are aligned as required.

This was an exact fit for my "crank radio". I bought the radio used and the rechargeable battery was bad. This was an exact replacement which made my radio "new" again.
