Comments about Make Getting Started with BeagleBone:

This Kit is designed to be everything you need to sit down and build an understanding and foundation for embedded single board computing Linux style. If you're already are into the maker movement and have Arduino's and components laying around then just get the board separately. If this is for a gift for someone get the kit! Oh yeah this board is fast! The CPU runs at 1Ghz. Having a spare micro SD card can also be helpful but not necessarily needed. There is a ton of support out there in the community at large too.

Comments about Make Getting Started with BeagleBone:

It is actually a good starter kit for Beaglebone Black and it is sold here at competitive price. To answer the comment above: Yes, the board alone is less expensive, but here it is the full starter kit so the price is right.

Comments about Make Getting Started with BeagleBone:

This is a Beaglebone Black and not a Beaglebone. They are two separate products. You can buy a Beaglebone black for half the price any where else that sells them.

If you plan on using this for SPI, please not that SPI through Linux on this tends to be slow.
