It actually replaced my desktop

By longbeachbob

from Long Beach, CA

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

It just so happened that my old desktop PC crashed completly just before I received by new Elitepad, so I decided to jump in and purchased the docking station and converted my old hard drive to an external USB drive. Added an adapter for USB for my keybd/mouse and I was all set. I now have a working tablet (portable) when I want it, or if I dock it I have access to all my family documents/work that has accumulated over the years. It is working great for me. I was able to get the executive stylus from the commercial channels (not consumer) and the new version works great. It has been my home desktop (with two screens-tablet & monitor), as well as my portable tablet to take with me now for 4 months and I love it. (one note- it is a bit slow if you upgrade to have Media Center enabled, dosn't keep up with streeming well)

accessories? esp a stylus?

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

I really like this tablet, but have not put it to use folly in converting from my Asus as I can't seem to find the stylus. I see other reviews cite the difficulty in finding/getting accessories. I just got off customer chat (hp) and they told me any stylus will work which contradicts what I read elsewhere as well as my intuition. The only item listed as an accessory on the hp site is a network dongle. There must be more? A stylus, a docking station, etc?

Excellent Tablet. Windows 8 is WIP

By tstefl

from Massachusetts

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

The hardware on this is as good or better than any tablet on the market. Yes, ANY tablet on the market - "eyeball" display, or no "eyeball" display. However, Windows 8 is a bit of a Work in Progress. What is somewhat difficult on the desktop/laptop platforms (the Live Tiles/Modern UI) actually shines in the tablet form. But, the Windows 7 "side" is what struggles with a touch interface. The click points are small, and simply need a mouse and keyboard to control, effectively. You can work without them, but it takes some getting used to. And, it's not "easy" or "pleasant." Which is sad, because Live Tiles and the 'Modern UI" of Windows 8 excels in the touch environment. But, the review is really about the actual tablet, which is, HANDS DOWN, as good or better than anything on the market.

I love it

By scott1245

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

The biggest draw back at this point is the lack of accessories and the back-order of HP accessories. I have had no issues running MS Office 13 and other business software programs. Basic internet use is good with a little bit of lag with "big" pages. Currently, I am tethered to my android phone for internet, I haven't tried to linked with Bluetooth yet. Windows 8 is very different and is a learning curve. I am impressed with the battery life even while streaming the web also while I'm tethered it charges my phone. BUT I really like this machine, it is going to be a huge asset for my organization.

Not selling the stylus

By givemethepen

from Seoul

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

I bought this to use with stylus, but they are not selling it, especially global hp in korea. While running windows8 out of metro mode, battery life seems to be poor with wifi on. I did not measure it, but about 2~3 hours seems to be reasonable with web surfing. Estimated battery life with 25% brightness only showing a picture without any touch will let me see the same picture for 10 hours. Please sell the stylus in Korea. I'm waiting for it. I've got to take notes in classes.

Good product, hard to get accessories

By jscott099

from Bradenton, FL

Comments about HP® EPad Z2760 10.1 64G 2G Win8:

I've been using the Elitepad for 2 weeks now. I have replaced an old T1000 laptop for the weight savings, and ability to write on the screen using MS OneNote. I had to get used to Windows 8 and its curious mix of mobile look and feel and traditional Windows. I also had to be much more conservative with since I only get 64Gb. I used a micrSD card but they are simply too slow for expected performance. Set up was fine with no problems. I had to purchase a USB optical drive for the couple of apps that still come on CD's. Biggest complaint: all the accessories that I need, especially the special pen you need to write on the screen are back ordered for weeks or longer. So, my ability to use this machine for business needs is greatly diminsihed. Still it is much easier than lugging two laptops on my weekly business trips.
