Cons Best Uses Comments about Midland® ER-102 Emergency Crank Radio with Weather Channels: My father sent his old Midland to me when we moved to Indiana a few years ago. I had never had experience with weather like they have out here before and am terrified of it. Dad bought this after they had a tornado in southern Chester County, PA years before and, after having no bad weather since, sent it to me out here. I have to say, it is several years old, the cats have knocked it off of the side table several times and have broken the antenna off, as well as the dc plug hole, but if I wrap the cord around the unit once and set it on top it stays charging, LOL! The thing still gives alerts and, though it is annoying, it WORKS! Which is what you want it to do...I was browsing for a new one as I am not so sure the plug will stay working much longer, but hey, it's been beat pretty badly and still functions. Thanks Midland!

Best Uses Comments about Midland® ER-102 Emergency Crank Radio with Weather Channels: I charged the unit with the included wall charger. I used the radio during a severe storm and the battery died within about a half hour - when I tried to recharge it with the wall charger, it wouldn't take a charge. The only way to use the unit after ONE use was to continuously use the crank. Not what I expected for the cost! It was returned for a full refund.

I purchased this product primarily due to past experiences with Midland products(c.b. radio). I will say that I have since found this item for $10.00 cheaper in a local flier. I rationalize that by the time I made the trip to retrieve the item, I would have probaly burned the difference in gas. Overall I am well pleased with this product. I like the features, and it meet my needs. Pros
