The guy at the store told me that this cable is an Apple cable with Gigaware slapped on the plug and that it will work with my iPhone 4. Wrong. I constantly get an error stating that the plug is incompatible with this device. I haven't tried it with my other Apple devices because the iPhone is the newest device out of the three. My iPhone will be sitting and then the message of incompatibility will appear, so I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it charging again. Planning on returning it and getting the authentic Apple cable instead.

It does not lock onto the Ipod touch, but none of the other Apple cables did do either. Locking cables are not possible for any Ipods(Sansa did).

The cable itself works good and looks good. But this thing it WAY overpriced. The official Apple cable is a dollar cheaper and you can get a good Belkin cable of half the price.

I bought this cable thinking I would get a nice quality iphone cable to work in my car and the color was a nice bonus. What I got was flaky cable that when it did work would cause my computer to say that it was not a 2.0 cable (note: the box says iphone AND USB 2.0 on the box). Normally I would either have the cable not connect at all or it would cause all of the USB devices on my computer to lock up. When I was able to connect successfully the slightest breeze would cause the connection to drop and my phone to resync if it was even able to connect at all. And this wasn't just one cable, I had bought a second one for my wife for use in her car and it did the exact same thing. Sadly this seems to be one of the things that you need to buy from Apple to get a good quality cable.

Just bought this today, so I can't say much about using this as a long-term replacement, but I'm hopeful that this will be decent.

The iPhone 3G came with a ridiculously short data transfer cable. It was completely useless for plugging into my computer which sits on the floor under my desk (I use the much longer 2nd generation iPod dock cable instead). So I plugged the OEM cable into the outlet by my nightstand instead.

The original cable also has this ludicrously fragile insulation, so now both the iPhone and the USB ends of the cable have exposed the innards of the cable.

The Gigaware™ Sync Cable for iPod® seems to be a pretty good replacement. It's at least 6 inches longer than the OEM cable, and the cable and insulation seems thicker than OEM. The ends have those flexible bits that allow the cable to flex without fraying, which is inexplicably missing from the iPhone cables.

Just bought it today. The original apple ipod usb cable has 2 buttons (1 on either side of the connector at the usb-ipod joint, which keeps the connection tight and secure, which locks the ipod and usb together.This product by Giga Ware has no lock-type mechanism....so it will disconnect with minimal opposing force. Must be a patent that Apple has on their cable regarding their lock-type mechanism.Other wise......the connection is good. 2 1/2 out of 5 for me.I'm going to return it and order the original apple version of this cable that's only available on Radio Shack online store......its exactly the same price [$]

This is not an A/V cable. It is also not just a charger like the idiot before me stated. This is a data transfer cable from your computer to the iPod and a charger while it is plugged into your computer.
