Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

I bought a few of these over time because of things like: my other proto breadboards were in use with other projects, and the fact that radio shack is one of the few stores I can drive to a quick buy one.
The First one I bought had eight broken contacts, two of them being the ground side one the bus contact. At least it came with a sheet of metal to replace the contacts. The other two I bought worked okay but these are much pricier than higher quality breadboards I own. I do like the yellow background, easier on your eyes.
I wish the V+ and the ground colors on the bus strip weren't on the opposite sides compared to layout standard for breadboards. These ones have blue on the left instead of the right and red is on the right instead of the left. Which gets annoying when work with other breadboard.
Other than a few cons, this breadboard is okay. There are worse ones on the market, but there are DEFINANTLY better ones out there as well.

Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

Great for mini-projects (555, etc) at 9 or 12 VDC, 20 or 22 gauge. 1/4W resistor, ICs, etc., good size for leads. Again, incomplete specs (current/power rating?, contact arrangement) both online and included data sheet.

Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

This breadboard is great. I'm using it to make a simple 12V DC circuit with 22awg wire. I just bought it but it looks like it will work well for me and what I need it for. It holds the 22awg tight and I don't expect any difficulty. Does it really have to be so expensive? Similar boards on different sites are much cheaper. However, in most cases in life you do get what you pay for and I'm looking for quality parts for my project.

Great stuff for the 555 and 386 chips. It really helped me do tests on my circuits I build to make sure that they work But the price is too high, but can buy the exact thing somewhere else, but good product.

tried to use it to hold a relay that was managing a 1 amp circuit. melted the breadboard. I guess it's not designed for that much current.

Its a breadboard... The only thing of consequence is the price. Unfortunately the price is a bit steep - but you will be hard pressed to find another brick & mortar store that carries them.
