Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

Great for mini-projects (555, etc) at 9 or 12 VDC, 20 or 22 gauge. 1/4W resistor, ICs, etc., good size for leads. Again, incomplete specs (current/power rating?, contact arrangement) both online and included data sheet.

Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

This breadboard is great. I'm using it to make a simple 12V DC circuit with 22awg wire. I just bought it but it looks like it will work well for me and what I need it for. It holds the 22awg tight and I don't expect any difficulty. Does it really have to be so expensive? Similar boards on different sites are much cheaper. However, in most cases in life you do get what you pay for and I'm looking for quality parts for my project.

Comments about RadioShack Modular IC Breadboard Socket:

tried to use it to hold a relay that was managing a 1 amp circuit. melted the breadboard. I guess it's not designed for that much current.

Its a breadboard... The only thing of consequence is the price. Unfortunately the price is a bit steep - but you will be hard pressed to find another brick & mortar store that carries them.
