Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: Last just past warranty. Customer service offered to replace with a down graded unit at a higher cost to me than I could buy in a store.

Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: I bought this model 5 years ago and it is with out a doubt one of the best purchases I've ever made. It has withstood the test of time. Very reliable. Great sound quality - annoying at times but considering its purpose, annoy me.

Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: This unit worked fklawlessly for about one year. Then no radio receoptuion of any kind. The manual says $45.00 for out of warranty repair and $7.00 for S&H!I paid [$] for it last year. It's currently [$] at [@].I have seen lots of reviews saying this unit fails just after the 1 year mark is reached.I have a non-same - Radio Shacek unit that is 15 years old and still works as designed! So I will be using that until I find out if Mudland will give me a replacement at no charge.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: I contacted Midland support after 12 months of good use to find out what was wrong with NOAA receiver portion of radio that suddenly stopped working, since AM/FM still worked. Tried a few things but was asked to return to Midland for replacement with my proof of purchase. Going to try Oregon Scientific now.

Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: I've purchased several weather radios over the years, and this has met all my needs for the last 3 years. It has all the codes and controls you'll need. The best and unique thing about this radio though is its external alert jack, which for those of you like me into home automation means that the radio can allow you to turn on lights and other devices in severe weather.

Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: I would recomened this weather radio to all nurseing homes. The Nurseing home I work for had an old weather radio and I recomened to our adminstrator the we upgrade to one with the SAME weather alert. We have had it for one year with no problems. Would by again.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: This radio has worked for me every time an alert came thru after 7 months & 2 days of use. The radios that come with the ability to turn off alerts, some people say "TORNADO WARNING" isn't on there. It is. The radio doesn't list it for a reason. In the manual it states that CRITICAL ALERTS such as Civil Emergency Message, Civil Danger Warning, Tornado Warning, etc., are PERMANENTLY TURNED ON! THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO TURN THESE ALERTS OFF FOR A REASON! So, yes, it'll still go off for a Tornado Warning without adding the alert.

Comments about Midland® All Weather/Hazards Alert Radio with AM/FM Tuning: The alerts & noaa radio stopped working after 1 month. The regular radio still worked but thats all that did. I don't need, just a radio. I have a alarm clock for that.
