this radio is bad ,mic to big too much mic cord too bulky poor recption static engine noise, i hjad other raiods such as midlands kraco uniden cobra 25 ltd is much better than this one ge ,radio shack is the worst radio i ever had the others works excellent no problems what so ever if you have a good set up it will work veyr good .

You get what you pay for. Don't assume its a quality product because its a Cobra. Although its roughly half the price of a Cobra 25, its not half the radio that the 25 is.

I bought this radio because I got tired of moving my other one back and forth between my car and my truck. This one is going back to the store.

The mic sucks, other drivers cant understand what I'm saying half the time. The speaker is lacking as well, as I can barely hear them. Range with two different antennas is about a mile or so.

If you want a cheap CB, get the Radio Shack brand. Mine is several years old and outperforms this one in every way.

it works good for what i needed it for, had a five foot antenna from the 70's connected it to this radio and worked like a charm, gets about 7 miles with good reception, doesnt need that little variable squelch knob just set it and go

it a small radio fits nice in tight spots thats the only good you get from it
i got every thing for the radio at radio shack installed it in my ford f150 it fit great i took it to my buddy to get it tuned. the antenna wire was junk so i replaced it with some real wire that had solidered ends unlike radioshacks. Then changed the antenna to get it tuned. as far as the radio it self the mic. sucks you cant here any thing in the other end of it because it muffeled. the range also is very poor its great if you planed on staying in yelling distance of the other person you are talking to. so i pulled it out of my truck to buy a good one the same size for the same price that has the same range as the big expansive radios. if you decide this is the one for you i hope you have better luck than i did.

The CB resets to channel 1 every time you turn it off. There is a 9/19 button but I will probably never use anything other than 19 so it's annoying to have to push 9/19 twice every time I get in the car. I would often forget and drive around with it on channel 1.
