Most people don't realize that the Bnc connector is to go on one way. the right way it locks on.....the wrong way is very difficult to lock on. You must rotate the lock 180 degrees to make it fit properly.

Bought it for my handheld scanner. The base is lose when connected to the scanner, and is very flimsy. When trying to listen to communication over the scanner you would hear nothing, and I had to touch my hand on the bottom of the antenna to get reception at all.

I got the Cobra HH 38 WX ST today as a birthday gift. I also recived this Antenna. At first, I put the stock rubber ducky on, and I was getting more skip and static than anything. The second I changed the antenna and put this on, I herd a difference. Not only in static, but the audio was suprisingly clearer. I was able to make contact with people all over Long Island, and the United States. I went from 1 mile, to 15 miles - At a price you cant beat!

The Antenna wabbles a little when on the radio. Otherwise, its perfect.+

I bought two Midland 5 watt hand held CBs and they came with rubber antennas that were good for about 100 yards - tops. So I ordered a pair of these. While they worked a little better than the rubber duck antennas, they fell apart in two days.

This antenna is great! It extends the range and clarity for both broadcasting and reception. My portable handlebar mounted cb can now communicate effectively with built in cb's in other vehicles (motorcycles). I no longer need to upgrade to a much more expensive system. This antenna has made me a "happy" broadcaster. I now have a copy, "Loud & Clear!"

This antenna greatly extended the tranmitting range of my handheld CB and improved overall reception. Its jet black color looks good. When the antenna is not extended it shrinks down to a size no larger than my old rubber duck antenna. If you need more range from your handheld, this antenna is recommended.
