First they are a pain for my busy staff to keep out of their way! They have a short use life, constantly breaking and ear piece protector falls off. The ear protection is just a rubber piece that is not attached in anyway. I have had several new out of the box that do not work or worked for only a day or two. The cords are always in the way.

My only problem is the same as others...the small rubber piece around the ear insert comes off too easily. Does amybody know where you can buy JUST this small piece? Otherwise, they are useless without it. Thanks.

This is a great little piece. Playing Airsoft with 120+ people on a large field making comms a necessity. My only grief is with it being slightly uncomfortable. However I don't even like to use iPod earbuds as I find them uncomfortable as well. Use in conjunction with a paintball mask and have no issues with functionality of the headset.

Comments about RadioShack Headset for FRS 2-Way Radios with PTT and VOX Capability: So I'm an active, hardcore Airsoft player (think, paintball with realistic looking weapons and plastic ammo) and I needed a solution to my bulky walkie talkie headset I was using that would snag on things and was just plain uncomfortable. I came across this earpiece headset at a local radio shack for and decided to try it. I was able to tuck the loose wires under my vest and wore a bandana over my ears, covering the headset. The entire day of playing communication was an absolute breeze. The cloth clip attaches virtually anywhere, allowing you complete customization of mic placement for what makes communicating easiest for you. For me, I attach the mic to my vests throat protector/collar assembly and I have the easiest time communicating. I have not tested the VOX as I do not prefer it due to the possibility of accidental transmissions. I recommend this item for paintballs players, airsoft players, other combat arms sports, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Without the VOX active, you would need a free hand to press the push-to-talk button (PTT) for transmitting, but receiving transmissions is a hands free operation and the signal comes in as loudly and clearly as your particular radio will allow. The only possible way this item could be better is if it was a Bluetooth wireless type of earpiece and if the VOX functions perfectly and doesn't transmit heavy breathing or loud backround noise. As I said I have not tested the vox but I will in the future. Great item!
