Comments about Araneus RF-Link (AVS-5811) 5.8GHz Wireless A/V Sender System:

Excellent for use in kitchen so that the expense and difficulty of installing another outlet is avoided. Probably would not be optimal for a primary, large screen tv, but I haven't tried that.

Bought a pair of these about 2 years ago when Transmitter stopped working. Tried to reach RF Link (via their customer support E-mail) several times to get tech support and/or find a repair source. Never got a response. Couldn't find a telephone contact either. Odd, as they still seem to be selling these things. I wouldn't buy another one.

I had to comment on this product Have used this RF Link for 3 years, from sunroom to garage, approx. 50 ft, thru 3 walls and perfect (have satellite tv)Now upgraded satellite, so moved RF-Link outside in backyard and attached to old flat screen in gazebo, approx. 35-40 ft thru one wall. TV not HD but picture and sound sure looks and sounds like it. Have already recommended to many friends that do not want to hassle the hardwire

Comments about Araneus RF-Link (AVS-5811) 5.8GHz Wireless A/V Sender System:

The RF Link we bought about 7 years ago is finally dying. I'm shopping for one and decided to review the transmitter. This is the second older house we've used it in since we got it, used both times for a kitchen TV. It's been fantastic; especially for the HDTV!

In the first house, it broadcast through 4 walls (2 exterior, brick) and about 35 feet (but not to an HDTV). In the current house, it will not broadcast through a double 8" block wall with pipes sandwiched between, so we turned the reciever and transmitter toward a picture window (the only wall to which both share a clear shot) and we couldn't ask for more clarity of picture or sound.

I almost took it back when we first bought it; it takes some experimentation- and people on each end yelling or on cellphones.

It's just a superb product for applications where cable cannot be run.

The picture transmitted is absolutely beautiful. You couldn't get more clarity with hard wire. Sending signal thru 2 concrete floors, and the picture is perfect. I've used these gadgets for 3 years now, they work perfectly if you know how to tune them. Reviews that they do not work are due to customer error. Not the fault of the product.
