This is a wonderful CB radio. It is just as good or better than Cobra 29's. I've owned both. Both work about the same. This one I like better though. The weather channels work very well all over the southeastern states. It's great to check on the weather while driving, sitting in traffic, or at a camping area. This is the best CB I've ever owned. And I have owned all the other big brand names too. Keep up the good work Uniden and Radio Shack! If you buy this one you will be glad you did.

This is my second radio. I liked the first one so much that I put it in my car and the new one is at home. Well designed, easy to operate and puts out a good signal and the reception is great. I use the steel whip for an antenna, like the other review, and easily reach twenty miles with good ground. Antenna is reading a low swr and up about fifteen feet. I am a good judge of radios (I think) and have been into radio over fifty years (ex-ham). I like the back lighting.

it was a good radio wen i got it. I took it home and did some work to it to get more power out of it and now its up to 7 wats. I use it as my base radio for right now.

I've had this radio for about 4-5 years and it's been in a rapair shop twice...Now, the channel selector light is wearing out and transmitter signal is bad..I guess it's time for me to try another brand/model...I'll say this is a good average radio but sorry, I will not have this model again...

[...]Now that that's out of the way. The radio works awsome, I got it for my birthday. Very straight foward configuration, and easy to tune with the built in SWR meter. With out the tune up (by a professional) it was putting out 11 watts, which is exceptionally high. With the tune up it was putting out a little over 30 watts. If you want more watt power, you're going to have to buy a more expenxive radio. As for me and my house, this works fine. Oh and I would recommend a 102" steal whip antenna (with a dome mount), radio shack has one for a good deal.[...]
