Comments about StarTech.com COMP2VGA Video Game Jockey:

Used this product to pull video from set-top box in living to a monitor in kitchen. The video quality is reasonable for watching TV.I was missing the controls to enhance the video quality. It does the job OK and is reasonably priced. If you have a spare monitor that you want to watch TV on, go for it. But if you have to buy the screen separately, then probably a TV is a better solution with higher picture quality all together. [$].I would recommend using flexible cables. The coax that I used to extend the video was rather stiff (higher quality) and I noticed the device being sensitive to cable movement because of that.Additional detail: I extended the cable with high grade coax to rca plugs for about 60ft.Radioshack shipping is always very satisfactory, no problems with that.

Comments about StarTech.com COMP2VGA Video Game Jockey:

Only displays the resolution of your existing game system. Mine is hooked up to my PS2, and monitor says 640x480. But it does work and the picture is as good as hooking it up to your TV. I purchased a S-video adapter, but had no noticeable improvement over the component plug. My computer is hooked to the DVI port on my monitor, and the jockey is in the VGA port. I did not run my computer video signal through the jockey.

I shopped around to see if these things would even exist. It is awesome not having to constantly hook my XBOX into a TV, besides a computer has better clarity anyway.
