As i said it seemed great at the beginning, but soon it surely came to a spiraling demise.. the more i used it, the worse the quality got.. all in all it lasted about 2 months.. if you would like to hear a version of one of my songs i did on this microphone to hear how it sounds look up on youtube 304 soljerz your our inspiration... even in the beginning it never had the best sound quality id have to say if you really want some reliable good microphone spend more money for a condenser microphone or something along the lines of that... it will be worth it, trust me...

Over time, I've purchased two of these 33-3039 microphones in a RadioShack store. The first was a store demonstration unit, while the second was new in box. It's worth noting that if you buy the in-store shelf demonstration microphone, you should ask for a microphone holder, as it's included with new-in-box examples of the 33-3039.

Both work extremely well. The older of the two microphones has had a lot of use and continues to hold up well. Sound quality, sensitivity and pickup pattern are all good.

I have used these microphones in a wide variety of applications, from lo-fi room monitoring, with a personal computer's sound card for various purposes and as input sources for stereophonic recording with a cassette tape deck. In all cases, these microphones have performed well.

What's not so good? You can't expect a microphone with a 1/4 inch output connector to be of professional quality, and it isn't really the kind of thing you'd want to use in a recording studio. A longer cable would be nice. There is also some hiss in the output at higher gain settings. Considering the price, there is no reason to complain about any of these things. An extension cable can be used if you need it.

I had some concerns about the durability of this microphone, as its cable is permanently attached and opening it for repair does not look to be easy. So far, these concerns appear to be unfounded.

Overall, this is a tough, easily operated microphone with better performance than its price would suggest.

I used the product in my band to record drums when we were starting out. It was very good, however we are now purchasing professional microphones. But if you just want to have some fun, then this is very good.

Don't buy or waste your money on Radio Shack products. I have gone through 4 microphones in less than 2 months. All died. Radio Shack would not replace because I did not have the box. Por customer service.
