        PEOPLE LISTEN!!!

This is NOT A CONVERTER. It is a 2 in 1 HUB. Don't expect file/video transfers between Firewire and USB 2.0. It doesn't do it. DOES NOT DO IT!!!

          Comments about IOGEAR GUH420 4-Port USB 2.0 and 3-Port FireWire® Combo Hub:

I bought this because I needed to convert footage from my camcorder to my computer, which is at without a FireWire.

It didn't even work when I plugged it in -- so I didn't even have to find out it's incompatible with the use for which it's being told. FALSE ADVERTISING.

              Comments about IOGEAR GUH420 4-Port USB 2.0 and 3-Port FireWire® Combo Hub:

While this hub comes with a power supply it only supplies 5V for the USB hub and does NOT supply the 12 V necessary for a powered Firewire connection. Using this hub with a 4 pin to 6 pin firewire adapter will NOT result in a powered firewire connection.

I purchased this so I could use firewire to transfer video from my video camera to my laptop. Unfortunately the firewire isn't recognized, so it's pretty useless to me.
