This thing works well. Its field of view is very tiny though. If it had an LED instead of incandescent bulb that batteries would last longer and the bulb would be cool. All in all this product is very good for checking what I need to. The trichomes are very small and need to be seen to determine when to harvest. For under $15 you can't complain.

For a [$] microscope this works very well, having a clear enough image to be truly useful. It would be even better with a LED light though.

This is a neat microscope, IF you want to look at very, very tiny things (like a grain of salt or smaller). If you want to inspect bugs and other stuff in the yard with your kids, this isn't a good choice. The viewing area is too small and there is too much magnification, even at the lowest level.

I bought the last one in store. Unfortunately there is a discoloration (dark blotch) near the center of one of the lenses on the interior. Going to return it and get another from the online store.

The image is very clear when focused. Works great. Had to take away one star due to the dirt/blotch on the lens on the inside.

I use this item during root cause failure analysis sessions on mechanical pieces. This is great for getting a good look at anything you need magnification on while in the field. I really don't have any complaints with the updated (current) model.

Not sure if its only the instructions I got in my package, but there is an error in final paragraph that just tickles me: "It is also 'impottant' to note the image you see will be inverted." Gramatical error or subliminal message?!?! Either way, this microscope is good for the price & lets me see exactly what I need to see. A good, cheap investment if you don't want to ruin your crop :) Only issue is the battery compartment cover doesn't want to stay on, so we improvised with a few pieces of tape, it now works just fine. You do need to be steady with whatever you are looking at. But overall, can't beat it!!

I use this to view the trichomes on my medical m-j plants. Works very well for this. My plants leave the clear end piece stinky and sticky though, because I have to set the scope right on the bud to hold it steady enough to actually view one spot clearly.
