Great little scope

By Adam

from Ohio

Pros

  • Easy To Use

Cons

    Best Uses

      Comments about RadioShack Illuminated Microscope:

Great little scope for places where a regular microscope would not be possible.

If you need a replacement bulb its a standard 222 bulb

Radio Shack no 272-1124 or most places that have replacement flashlight bulbs

          Comments about RadioShack Illuminated Microscope:

I have been using this to view Morgellons fibers in peoples skin and it has worked well for that. However, recently the bulb went out and I cannot find a 2.5v.3A small top bulb anywhere! I even went back to Radio Shack to no avail. I was hoping RS would stock bulbs for their products, but I guess they can't be bothered.

          Comments about RadioShack Illuminated Microscope:

A great little microscope. Perfect for checking on trichomes, also allows you to identify males/females very early on. Only downside is that it's a bit difficult to hold it steady.

Great to use on my plants RE; tricomes

know how it would work best for me. Its small
hard to hold still. so I got to work best by
putting a sample of plant in a pop bottle lid
and holding both.had no shaking got great results.
I will tell all my frends to buy this low cost

replace if it falls apart I plan to be useing
          it every day....Thank you RADIOSHACK

Can't get a clear focused image. I have used the 30X for 11 years and love it. The 60x-100x shows a cloudy blurred image. Had 2 colleagues of mine try it and they had the same issue. Maybe just a lemon?...

              • Hobbies

              Comments about RadioShack Illuminated Microscope:

This mini mouse microscope is worth every cent. I would not recommend it for any kind of professional use, but it is outstanding for hobbies and simple curiosity. The small view and somewhat awkward focus and power adjustments combined with lack of stability(the nature of a handheld microscope) makes this bad boy a lesson in perseverance, but the reward is an amazingly crisp view. I rigged mine to a flexible desk light to eliminate my shaking hands with excellent results.

                  Comments about RadioShack Illuminated Microscope:

This thing works well. Its field of view is very tiny though. If it had an LED instead of incandescent bulb that batteries would last longer and the bulb would be cool. All in all this product is very good for checking what I need to. The trichomes are very small and need to be seen to determine when to harvest. For under $15 you can't complain.

For a [$] microscope this works very well, having a clear enough image to be truly useful. It would be even better with a LED light though.

This is a neat microscope, IF you want to look at very, very tiny things (like a grain of salt or smaller). If you want to inspect bugs and other stuff in the yard with your kids, this isn't a good choice. The viewing area is too small and there is too much magnification, even at the lowest level.
