You must exercise care to get your cell phone speaker right next to the microphone/earbud -- If you place the cell phone properly the recordings are exceptionally clear. But if the cell-phone speaker is not right on top of the microphone/earbud quality is poor. Select the (included) ear bud cover that's best for you.

You need to make sure your digital recorder provides power to the earbud. My digital recorder did not, so it did not work. Great idea though.

This works great. 4 years and over 100 recordings, and I'll tell you, there were numerous times I benefited greatly from having this little device! Make sure you check the laws in your state, as well as the state of the other caller!

Before using it you have to play around with it so that you have the volume and connections at the optimum settings to get the most out of the product. Don't just connect it and use it without testing it because you may not like the initial results. Then you will give it a bad review. Its all about the setup to get you the best result.

Purchased this for work use. I sometimes need to record phone calls when I am not at the office where all calls are recorded. The ease of use and set up makes this product nice,especially when in a hurry. The sound quality was exceptional. The recordings sound just like any other recorded conversations that I have listened to. The price is nothing to argue about either. A definite must for someone who needs to record cell phone conversations.

I was hesitant to purchase this device after all of the complaints about it making it hard to hear the caller, and the recordings coming out fuzzy. I will now tell you my opinion.I found that the earpiece was a little large to fit comfortably enough for me to forget about, but it did fit securely in my ears. This should not be a concern for most people, though, as most earbuds don't fit my small ears comfortably.As soon as I got the device home, I hooked it up to a mid-range price digital voice recorder. ([...] I found that it worked fine with an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder. Nothing special about it.) I made a phone call with the microphone in place, and it recorded crystal clear on the recorder. The quality actually seemed better than what I was hearing during the call.As for muted volume, I am hard of hearing and it doesn't take much for me to have trouble understanding people. This in no way affected my ability to hear or understand the person on the other end of the phone. It is an excellent device, especially for the price.

I had the problem with buzzing on a few phones that people are experiencing here. I fixed it with an attenuating patch cable: [@] plus a 1/8" barrel connector.It worked perfectly! Great way to record business conversations and have a record of verbal agreements.

This Microphone, and pretty much all other telephone pickups are useless for recording from wireless phones. The radio energy transmitted from wireless phones induce noise in the microphone pickups, If you want to record cellphone conversations, you need a cellphone with recording capabilities built in.
