But it works about how I'd expect, can't complain. I will just be buying specific sized from now on, lots of this will just sit around. This is good if you don't really know what you're looking for or if you know that you will need lots of different sizes. But if you know you will only be doing one specific thing, figure out what you need and skip this.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): This heat shrink is as good and no better than other heat shrink that I have used. The downside is the price the RadioShack charges. It can be found a lot cheaper other places. The only reason I bought it here for a second time was because I was in a bind and needed it immediately. I use my RadioShack butane soldering iron to shrink the tubing.

Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): Most heat shrink has a 2:1 shrink ratio, so people shouldn't say it "doesn't shrink" if it doesn't go beyond that. It works the way it should.
Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): These tubes would not shrink when I used a hair dryer (1875W). But they shrunk a lot (and fast) when I used a match. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): Works great insulating soldered connections. Bring back the plastic bag packaging, I don't need to pay an extra $2.00 for a fancy cardboard and plastic package. Add a little extra shrink wrap instead.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): I was using this for audio cables on 1/4" TRS plugs. My cable is much narrower than typical mic/line cables so I needed to be able to have a pretty high shrink ratio. This product doesn't list it, so I took a chance. Appears it's only a 2:1 which wasn't nearly enough. If my audio cable was thicker then the 1/2" pieces would've been perfect.

Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): Heat shrink only went to about half then quit shrinking. This might work for larger items, but did not shrink to fit the diodes for my truck. I could pull the diodes right back out after "shrinking".
Comments about RadioShack 6" Heat-Shrink Tubing (12-Pack): Works just great for me! You do need a good heat gun, and I have mine set at 450 degrees Farenheit. I used the very small stuff to insulate LED leads right up against the LED itself without any problem. Displaying reviews 1-8 |
