Horrible. Picks up electrical noise (60 Hz).
I had to make my own device: used only one capacitor for it (1 cent worth) and my "device" (capacitor) perfectly works.

I am still trying to figure out how this got a review with less than 5 stars due to a weak antenna. It has no antenna. Just crazy.

I am an HR manager and have been for many years, and have used this device to record interviews, and other corporate and legal conversations. While it's use still does the job, their are a lot more different options available from sites like [@]. Don't get me wrong, this device does exactly what it is supposed to but it's a little behind the times.

I bought this today.
It works fine when I record to my Panasonic Digital recorder.
But I can't get it to record to the PC using Audacity. I have two mics - the Webcam and the PC's. Of course I won't get the phone sound using the Webcam mic. But with the PC mic I only get a loud hum. Don't even get my voice. Turning off the DSL made no difference.
I am running Windows XP Home;
the PC sound system is IDT Audio 1.
Intend to return it tomorrow.

This works great BUT the line in the instructions about the device not working if they keypad is in the telephone handset is the exact opposite of the truth. In reality it works wonderfully if the keypad is in the handset, but only marginally if the keypad is in the base of your phone. In the latter case there is a tremendous amount of noise which you would need to filter out. In the former case, it is clear as a bell.

First, read the directions, people! If you have an RJ11 jack (in other words, the typical phone jack), then you can use this device. I've recorded countless interviews via both home and business multiline phones and never had a problem. It does make a difference, in the case of the latter, which jacks you use; at my last job, I had to use the headset, not handset, jack to eliminate the static and buzzing noises. The previous poster who said it didn't work with his keypad-in-handset phone simply had it plugged in wrong, as that is exactly the kind of phone I use at home for recording!

Second, this device is about as simple as it gets; there are no moving besides the slide switch, the wiring lengths are just right, and it's available everywhere. Get one, use it, and if you don't like it, return it.
