Comments about RadioShack 6-Ft. MIDI Cable:

I bought this product as a spare, for my MIDI keyboard setup.
I also play guitar, and Own a Laney VC 50 guitar amp that came with a foot pedal with a 5 pin midi connector, that was broke.
I'm older and soldering a new 5 pin jack wasn't working with my eyes or fingers.
My problem was solved when i figured out that this 5 pin pul actually had 5 wires, so I cut the cord in half and matched up the wires and It works fine!!
I'm happy, but now I'm looking for a longer cord so I can remove the spliced mess!
          Thanks

Comments about RadioShack 6-Ft. MIDI Cable:

I must respond to "GAD's" review of this product. As of 29, May 2012, this cable contains five operating circuits, not the three described back in 2011 by "GAD". The cable has performed correctly for me. Possibly this was a product imnprovement?

Comments about RadioShack 6-Ft. MIDI Cable:

The original MIDI specs only used three pins, but some modern gear needs all five pins. This cable (like many out there), only has three of the five pins wired. If you need a MIDI cable that uses all five, look elsewhere. This cable is not sturdy enough for stage use.

Comments about RadioShack 6-Ft. MIDI Cable:

I bought this cable to connect an Akai reel to reel tape deck to an older Sansui amplifier. RCA jacks would have worked too, but this simplifies things by having only one cable for play and record. Much more expensive anywhere else. Thanx RS!

Also, most european and ALL Bang & Olufsen brand equipment use DIN connectors exclusively. This cable works for that too and is MUCH cheaper than buying one elsewhere. You can cut this one to add RCAs if you want.
                  google for the pinout.
