Comments about RadioShack Red 120 MCD intensity, T-1-3/4 (5mm) size LED: works great
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Red 120 MCD intensity, T-1-3/4 (5mm) size LED: Though I didn't see it stated online, you get two LEDs per pack, so it's not as pricey as some imagine. I bought these because some I purchased elsewhere were dimmer and orangish-red, instead of real red. The ones here are speced at 660nm, which is unquestionably red. (For ref, I believe the orangish ones were 625nm.) I used 27 of these on a computer front panel and they came out very bright and consistent, even though they were purchased at three different stores. They are diffused and the 40deg dispersion is about what one expects in an LED. Yes, one can get far cheaper ones but being able to try them locally and get the proper red, brightness and dispersion were important to me. The vintage PDP-8/m computer came out looking great!

Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Red 120 MCD intensity, T-1-3/4 (5mm) size LED: These are way overpriced. 20 cents would be a more reasonable price and still allow RadioShack to make money. Also, there are no detailed specifications about max power, typical power or viewing angle.
