Dual General-Purpose IC PC Board

Comments about RadioShack Dual General-Purpose IC PC Board:

This circuit has wrong dimensions. The hole spacing between the two rows should be 0.3". But the actual spacing is only 0.26". One has to really bend the IC pins to an awkward angle to insert them. I refused to bend the pins and threw the board away. I will not buy this board again without physically checking. This may be a defective batch from China.

I can't find ANYthing like this anywhere else. Low price.

Solder a 20-pin DIP socket on it and you can use it over and over for any 4-to-20-pin DIP package on many different projects. Use unused pins for tie bus, extra components, etc.

Use a knife edge to score the 'snap-apart' areas, or cut with a fine saw, or just use it for two DIP's for your project.

Clean the copper side with steel wool and/or cleanser to make it accept solder easily.

RS, please don't ever stop making these.

I wish Radio Shack would sell a small plastic enclosure into which one of these would fit. The smallest enclosure is too small, and the next size up is a waste of space.

great for fanning out leads from IC DIP components. Reduce solder bridges!!

I used it for small circuts (like a blinking LED). The space in the midle is perfec for ICs. The one thing I don't like about it is when I seborated the two boards one craked alitle.

WHAT A FIND. During my projects, I was wishing someone made such a board and Lo and behold, while rummaging through my parts cabinet, there I find 2 of them. I looked at several electronic distributors for this little fella with no success and there they are at several local Radio Shack stores. Sure makes things easier to have the IC on one board and the associated components on another.

Used this to build EQ circuits with OPA134PA op-amps. The foil and holes lined up with 8-pin DIP socket and left room to add other components. Was more convenient than breadboarding with simple perf board. Mounting holes at corners made it simple to mount within the host component.

This board is excellent for transistor project instead of just IC projects. You can build an active antenna with this circuit board to improve shortwave radio reception. I had 2 of these boards that I build 2 different active antennas. The boards are good for building an audio amplifer using the LM-386 amplifier and other small IC projects. So above all,it's good for all projects.
