    Comments about RadioShack Cassette Recorder:

Have used this product for phone and field interviews for an estimated 15 years. First recorder lasted eight years, and have had second for the last seven years. You get what you pay for, and for the modest price paid, this has been one of the best pieces of work equipment I have ever owned. As a private investigator, I have done hundreds of interviews with this recorder.

        Comments about RadioShack Cassette Recorder:

This is far inferior to a similar recorder that radio shack used to make. What were they thinking? What planet of the apes did they find to build it? The thing won't record and is lightweight. I'm about to return a second one of these to the dealer...the first one I had for only a few months and this one broke down after only one use.

          Comments about RadioShack Cassette Recorder:

I love these older style recorders because they are reliable and you can take the tape out and transfer it to another player. I have a digital recorder but it has its limitations in being able to move the recordings from place to place.

          Comments about RadioShack Cassette Recorder:

I have had the CTR-121 cassette recorder for 4 years or more. I have had no trouble until a mo ago it quit pulling the tape through. I would press play got two words or so and it would shut itself down. I use this tape recorder almost daily for long periods of time. I wear a recorder out. I was thrilled to find the last one at our Mt. Vernon,Il. store today. I hope R.S. never changes a thing about this tape recorder except for one thing. a little more base but not much.
Now I have a question I hope some one can help me with. If I can find a hand held FM radio (tuner) how can I connect together= the radio and this tape recorder and record from the radio??????? I know how to connect the recorder to the Mac computer and take info. from the recorder put into audicity then burn to a CD but I do not know how to record from radio to recorder. I need to know which little holes on the side do I use and which holes on the radio to use. I hope you can help me. I go to a convention in summer and need to record from a radio program that is for the hard of hearing use. I am in a crowd of about 5,ooo people and even with their sound system I need to go through the radio. Thank you a little old granny great of 70 years old and not to old to learn new tricks smile. Thank You

                Comments about RadioShack Cassette Recorder:

About a week ago, I got my newest tape recorder, and I have two problems. First, the audio blares, as when I record, I have it strapped to a speaker. But worst off all, it seems to be good for only single-sided recording. When I record one one side, the quality is excellent (other than the blaring), though it doesn't always pick up all the musical sounds, but when I record on the other side, the quality on that side is as stated above, while the quality of what was recoreded on the other side is, more or less, trashed, which is something I have never had happen with any other tape recorders that I have ever had (and I've had a lot of them), including at least two other CTR-121s.

I use this product mainly to tape my choir rehearsals and play it back to practice in my car. I have had two of these recorders. They both have the same problem. The play back speed is uneven and sounds terrible.

I have purchased two of these cassette recorders, as I need a hand held recorder for dictation. Neither has been reliable. The first one I purchased got a short in the recorder within a few months. I needed another recorder in hurry, and as this was the only one available I purchased another, assuming it wouldn't happend twice. Bad mistake, because now after barely two months the recorder is no longer working. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
