This is a rugged cassette tape recorder/player. It feels solid and durable, just like the top-of-the-line desktop models from the 1970s. If you have tapes to play, for listening enjoyment or copy purposes, this seems to be an outstanding machine for that. I am so glad to see a quality desktop tape recorder is still being manufactured.

Hands down over all the "modern" mini pocket recorders or Droid recorders, I absolutly LOVE THE CRYSTAL CLEAR AUDIO SOUND OF THIS oldie but goodie cassette recorder. I connect a good quality Shure Microphone in the recorders side ports, set the mic IN ITS STAND between my client and myself, and record our counseling sessions. 2012 and clients LOVE & DEPEND on thier recorded cassette counseling sessions. This is the ONLY recorder I have used for 8+ Yrs. I'm on my third one and recommed it highly!!

The units works ok if you have a digital recorder handing. Don't try to use it connected to a computer. Sound quality is very poor.

I found its best to use an FM Transmitter to feed other radios. I can record direct from my pc. Getting me another unit soon. Yes, still use my tape formats cheap reliability. Great if you record TV & audio talk shows on radio. A no brainer!

This is a MONO type tape player, recorder, designed for voice only. Do not try to listen to, record or transfer stereo through this unit. One of the tasks I was hoping to use this for was digitizing some old tapes of mine. It has no capability for a second channel on play or sound out. That said, for voice it is pretty good. No Dolby b noise reduction which is a shame. Decent signal to noise ratio. The "tone" feature is just a high pass cut off, killing some of the high frequency hiss, along with signal in that range. Guess I will track down a cassette Walkman with line-out to digitize my old music tapes.
