Comments about RadioShack Phono Plug (4-Pack):

I have been in electronics before there was a Radio Shack. I needed to make up a special four headed cable - and these jacks worked great. May not be the same item others commented on. These covers screw on-off and support the cable nicely.
              Soldered very easily also.

I've been buying from Radio Shack for over 30 years. They used to have good products, but no more. I now understand why they are going out of business (yes, I know, they are are at present only reducing staff/stores, but it won't be too long before they are completely gone.)

It was very difficult to pull the plastic housing apart, and once I did, it bent the grounding sleeve. Not impressed at all.

First off lets talk about the Plug itself, Rubbish!! Even when I managed to get a wonderful solder joint, the piece of junk barely attaches to any female RCA inputs. AV receivers: Sony NO, Harmon Kardon NO, Radio-shack brand RCA couple NO. No wonder every one hates RS anymore. You don't have to be good you just have to be better than anything else around. This is the quality of RS products IMHO. I will be purchasing online from other retailer.

Cheap, difficult to use, and overpriced for what you are getting. Ended up soldering the plug anyway because the center post screw couldn't hold a wire down. Radioshack, these plugs are bad and you should feel bad.

Comments about RadioShack Phono Plug (4-Pack):

I have worked in the audio / video business for 18 years. Was doing a Saturday install and my normal low voltage distributor was closed. Made the mistake of buying phono plugs at Radio Shack. Poor / cheap overall product design and nearly impossible to connect. I threw them in the trash and went to [...] Electronics. The design engineer should have to connect a thousand of them as punishment.

Luckily the previous user review helped with wiring the new plug into my existing wire. I wasn't sure what to do with the shield ground... any suggestions?

Comments about RadioShack Phono Plug (4-Pack):

Good, I like them although they are not exceptional quality. Unscrew them to solder. They solder very well. Occasionally, one will fail through the (+) center pin (because of poor manufacturing)and you will no longer have signal. I wish R.S. would make the (-) outer ring a split type so you could use pliars to tweak it down a bit for better connection.
                                      Good overall!
