Comments about RadioShack® 25-Ft. Braided 1/4"-to-1/4" Instrument Cable:

Had one end come loose. So I decided to repair it, and shorten it to make a jumper from my effects to my amp. The end the came off was my first clue to the construction of this cable. It is stereo speaker wire wrapped in cloth with a really thick vynl jacket. The wire is small in gauge, and the outter grounding wire could have been braided better. I have since purchased better cables. This is stiff, and for the price you can definatly get better, or make better. If your in a bind get the black cord. Much better more flexible.

Comments about RadioShack® 25-Ft. Braided 1/4"-to-1/4" Instrument Cable:

I used this for guitar at home and on gigs since 1983. This year one end finally came loose, so I am only using this at home now. I have 2 more and hope they last as long. I've used all the big name cables (Monster, Whirlwind,Hosa, planet waves, fender, etc.) and they've all broken within 5 years axcept these cables. A great deal for the money.

I handle my equipment gently with the intent of having it last forever, but within 2 months this cable failed. It developed a short in the cable that caused loud pops and absence of sound. I do not recommend this cable.

Comments about RadioShack® 25-Ft. Braided 1/4"-to-1/4" Instrument Cable:

I play lead guitar in a band and I saw this cable when I was picking up a patch for my pedal board. At first I loved it, it looks cool, and seemed durable. The sound seemed clean. I took it to a few gigs, but in the middle of a song the sound just stopped going through it. It took a while to figure out it was the cable, because it seemed so reliable. I had to have someone hold the connector and the cable together at a certain angle in order to play the rest of the gig, but even then the sound was really muffled and quiet. It was awkward. I've only had it maybe 2 months. It looked really cool, but the braided cloth look is covered in a plastic shell which is so stiff it was hard to stretch it out to 25 feet. I used it more like a 12 foot cable. But it could coil very easily since the plastic did it naturally. My opinion, go to a music store and get a decent cable by a guitar cable manufacturer.

Comments about RadioShack® 25-Ft. Braided 1/4"-to-1/4" Instrument Cable:

It's an average instrument cable. Works fine, but the shielding isn't very good. Waaaaay too much noise for studio use, and I hate using it live.

When I tried to open it up to see if there was faulty wiring - I couldn't. The ends are encased in plastic. That's fine for a patch cable, but this is an investment. I should be able to open it up and work on it.

It's fine if you're in your bedroom jamming.

I bought this cable to connect my guitar to my practice amp. Within a month of my purchase, I was getting shorts in both ends of the cable. Before that it performed fairly well. Two weeks ago the end that I plug into my guitar completely separated.

I bought two of these for use in a high school setting. The ends broke off of both of them. I wasn't there to see the ends break off, but it surprised me that they would break in the way that they did. When I inspected the ends they did not look very sturdy. The "Heavy-Duty" description on this cable is misleading in my opinion.

Comments about RadioShack® 25-Ft. Braided 1/4"-to-1/4" Instrument Cable:

I bought this cable over 2 years ago, and am just now buying another to replace it. First, it is very flexible. Second, the short ends with spring reinforcement allow you to run the cable through your guitar strap without kinking the cable, or having a huge loop that stiffer cables do. The clear plastic cover protects the vintage style cloth covering from getting filthy on club stages, and finally, it rolls some of the top end off a Marshall, so it's not a perfectly transparent cable - which I like.
