Pros

  • Reversible connections
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Don't crimp well

Best Uses

  • Auto radio installation

Comments about RadioShack Solderless Insulated Spade and Ring Tongues (75-Pack):

I somehow thought there were blade terminals included. I ended up buying blade terminals and inline (butt) connectors in much smaller quantities and only started using these after running out of butt connectors with the radio still not working.

The main advantage of these is you can disconnect and reconnect to a different wire without wasting a connector. The bigger ones take a 10-32's screw.

The problem with these connectors is they are very hard to crimp tightly without breaking or cutting all the way through. I ended up pushing the wire through till it was visible at the terminal end, crimping, then soldering the wire to the edge of the terminal. Kinda defeats the purpose wouldn't you say?

I didn't have these problems with the crimp terminals and connectors in smaller quantities from the drawers in the store.

Steel, not copper

Best Uses

Comments about RadioShack Solderless Insulated Spade and Ring Tongues (75-Pack):

These are plated steel, so may rust over time. Since they are not high-conductivity metal like copper, they are not as appropriate for quality electrical connections. Better suited for crimping to steel cable.
