Assumed there were two crimp sections for the insulation after discussing with a Radio Shack employee. He had never used them either. Bad assumption. The section I used for the conductor crimp is used to prevent the pin from pulling through the plug. The plugs will go together but if you ever try pulling them apart all the wires will pull through the plug.

Comments about RadioShack® 9-Position Female Polarized Connector: I just installed these for my car stereo installation. I wanted to have something that was easily removable just in case something would go wrong with it (not that I see that happening with a Pioneer stereo) or in case I decide to upgrade to something better. These interlocking connectors were just the answer. I no longer have to deal with several feet of unnecessary electrical tape and crimp on connectors. Just had to solder the connectors to the wire, snap them in, connect the radio, and it worked great. The only flaw that I saw is that crimping these connectors didn't seem to work too well. I also found it easier to work with 18 gauge wire than it was with the 22 gauge wire. Much like soldering, it just takes a some patience to work with. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to wants to improve the appearance of their projects. Good product overall.
