    Comments about RadioShack Wire-Wrapping Tool:

This thing is so fantastic. I have a setup requiring about 144 LEDs to be wired together in parallel...soldering would have taken AGES. Instead, I use this tool and it's as easy as using a screwdriver. I was able to get 60 LEDs wired up while relaxing in my armchair with a cat on my lap watching TV. Cannot do that with a soldering iron.

I especially like the little hole in the side, which allows me to bend my LED leads into J shape so I can sew them to my wearable project.

I will say, after cutting/stripping 30+ pieces of wire in a row, your hands start to hurt and it gets harder to grip the wire and pull the insulation off. That's a good deal due to how thin the wire is, though, and not as much due to the stripper in this tool. I include this information in case others are pondering whether to wire-wrap or solder.

I bought two of these. Both of them worked right out of the package.

          Comments about RadioShack Wire-Wrapping Tool:

This thing works great, but you have to get a feel for it. Its not like your drilling down a screw and takes a little finnesse. If you feel it start to bind up just relax it a bit and give it another time or two as your dealing with wire you can pinch off with fingernails, anyone that just jars down on it will fail. Otherwise its about the same as any other tool in this style and its a great price. (which is a rarity for the shack)

          Comments about RadioShack Wire-Wrapping Tool:

Although my wire wrapper worked a few of my classmates had to return theirs. This was very disapointing. The odds of purchasing a faulty wrapper seem to be nearly 3:1. They attempted to exchange said faulty wrappers at the store and ended up getting new cell-phones instead.

            Comments about RadioShack Wire-Wrapping Tool:

Bought this online. It did not work properly, it kept breaking the wire. Traded it in at a local Radio Shack, to get another defective one. I compared it to someone elses and the design is way off in the very end of it. 3 trys later I got one that worked. What a joke, I guess you get what you pay for...Please consider something else...

                          Comments about RadioShack Wire-Wrapping Tool:

...because they will love it so much that it will never be on your bench when you need it. Even though I don't wire-wrap as much as I did as a student, the handy stripping tool is worth the purchase price. I constantly use the stripping tool to strip wire-wrap wire when modifying prototypes and repairing circuit boards. I love it so much that it is always the first tool I tell my new employer I need when I start a new job.
