Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 5-Position Terminal Strip: Item is advertised as 5 position when in fact, is only 4 position. The center mounting is grounded so you cannot use that for any signal path other than ground. Very cheaply made so be aware when handling, mounting or soldering.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 5-Position Terminal Strip: This is a hard-to-get part essential to restoration plus building book and magazine electronics projects from the mid 1940s through mid 1960s. The Internet Archive and other on-line libraries contain public-domain books with detailed tube and transistor projects specifying terminal strips like these. Like any soldering, these parts require correct tools and some skills practice to obtain reliable results. I particularly use this product when building wooden-base and metal-chassis projects.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 5-Position Terminal Strip: A design that's been around since before WW2 because it's not broken and needs no fixing. I use them at levels up to 400 V in vacuum tube circuits all the time. Just occasionally a terminal isn't flared quite enough to reliably stay anchored in the phenolic. As for the tin plating, it's goodbye tin-lead "tinning," so a little more soldering prep than in the old days may be necessary. It's *great* to be able to walk in off the street and buy these when necessary.

Comments about RadioShack 5-Position Terminal Strip: Nice little terminal strip. But the metal surfaces have a smooth, shiny plating that my solder doesn't stick to. I thought I had a strong joint several times but the cooled solder wouldn't adhere and would just pull away when I wiggled it.

Comments about RadioShack 5-Position Terminal Strip: These are great for modding and repair of older equipment. These really shine in valve (vacuum tube) amplifiers and other tube-based gear. The middle lug is a ground point, while the rest are best for under 100 volt/5 amp connections.
