Used to amplify TV antenna signal for distribution in home. Other 10 db amps did not work. Did a good job in digital signals.

Comments about RadioShack TV/HDTV/VCR/FM Antenna-Mounted High-Gain Signal Amplifier:

We were simply amazed to quintuple the number of channels we receive. The number went from 5 to 24! We are using one of your large antennas in our attic, which we have used successfully with most analog signals. With this configuration, we couldn't get the converter box to pick up any channels under 7. Now we get five! We live over fifty miles away from Sacramento, from where most of our stations broadcast.[...] All of the reps we have worked with were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Thanks so much for great products and great service!Stanhope & Joyce Cunningham

I added this unit to the low price Radio Shack Rooftop antenna and without this unit one channel was iffy. With this unit it pegged out the iffy channel and every other channel is nearly pegged as well. Well Done!

Comments about RadioShack TV/HDTV/VCR/FM Antenna-Mounted High-Gain Signal Amplifier:

I received 22+ Digital local channels at a distance of 40 miles from the transmiters using a Channel Master CM-3020 Roof-mounted outdoor antenna coupled with a Channel Master Spartan 3 mast mounted pre-amp which was approximately 15 years old. I had the recommended RG-6 cable routed through my Dish Network VIP 211 receiver antenna port then to my Sony XBR HDTV. The Sony has a built-in HD tuner so I can pass-through the digital signal from the box. Either way, the signal can be toggled with the remote. I use the Satellite box to remove the annoying bars that the Sony TV puts on the picture. Everything worked beautifully until one day, I got nothing, all the over-the-air channels were gone. Nothing came through the box. I toggled to the Sony tuner and still nothing.

I thought the Channel Master Amp had gone out so I replaced it with this Radio Shack version, still nothing using same set up and rescanned for locals. Ultimately, it turns out, the Sat box was defective and Dish replaced it. I rescanned for locals again and still nothing. I bypassed the Sat box and wired directly into the Sony to double check, but still no channels, with yet another scan. Once I got the Satellite receiver glich straightened out, I reconnected my 15 year old Spartan 3 using the original configuration and Voila! all 22 channels up and running once again just like before. Unfortunately, I waited past the 30 day return period for the Radio Shack product. So I'm out 50+ dollars for a piece of junk that doesn't work.

FYI: I took a look inside the pre amps of the Channel Master vs. the Radio Shack. The Channel Master has a circuit board with all kinds of transistors and things I couldn't tell you exactly what they do, but are probably important. The Radio Shack has a circuit board concealed in a flat metal "thing" with what appears to be maybe two transistors conealed underneath if even that.

The moral of the story, stick with a name brand you can trust, like Channel Master or Winegard. You get what you pay for!

We are on the fringe of DTV (actually antenna web says sorry you can't get signal), but this 2-part amplifier did the trick. All DTV stations about 70 miles away come in good. I bought it on reccommendation from neighbor whose kids told him "buy the best one Rdaio Shack has". So I did, and it does.
