Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: After a thunderstorm, the amplifer I was using no longer worked and my cable moderm would not connect. The old amplifier has a single input connection and a single output connection. I replaced the amplifer and two splitters with this uinit and everthing worked great again. The using is well made and in a sturdy case like the stuff the cable companies use. Best of all, it works!

Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: Added cable tv to my high speed internet and had to go through a 4 way splitter. The signal into the cable modem was now marginal and modem would lose sync. Went down to radio shack and the person brought me right to the product after telling him what I wanted and knew what I was asking for.

Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: I have yet to determine if the output of this device is 8 dB per output or 8 dB total across all 3 outputs. Sales personnel know where stuff is in the store, but lack any technical knowledge or even how to find out.

Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: Living 40 miles or so from the broadcasting area, my antenna would not pull in a strong signal from some of the stations. The digital picture would breakup and freeze. This amplified splitter took care of the problem. It does need to be plugged into an AC outlet to work, of course, but you do not need to climb up on the roof to install anything.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: Works great with digital HD signals over long cable runs.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: I have had one of these for a few years. When the cable went digital we started to have signal problems on TV's at either end of our house. With analog when the signal is low the picture gets snowing, with digital the picture goes away. I purchased an amplifier from a local big box store to feed the kitchen TV and the cable outlet in the outside screened in room. Worked fine. I then purchased the Radio Shack amplifier to feed the back bedrooms TV's. Recently the cheap amp from the big box store died. I had to move the Radio Shack cable amplifier so my wife could watch her afternoon shows outside, the weather has been so nice. I was just checking to see if I still could get this product at my local Radio Shack and it shows available. I'll be there tomorrow.

Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: My cable company is now requiring a converter box for every TV. I had 2 TVs that only used the cable directly. When I added the cable boxes, they would not program and could not be used. I decided that the signal to the converter box must be weak.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: Signal strength to low to drive my cable modem after a splitter. Hooked it up, works great for cable modem and TV.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 1-to-4 Bidirectional Cable-TV Amplifier: Finally; after trying several splitters I broke down and purchased this device. Hooked it up in 5 minutes and… Presto… solid HD signals for all televisions in the house. Only concern is how the device will hold up under the high temps in the attic. Time will tell, so far so good.
