This has absolutely no weight to it and falls all over the place and not good for bringing in stations either and I'm not that far from stations.

            Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

Works exactly as described, even in my basement. Free TV is great. The good thing about DIGITAL HD TV is that the picture is perfect (or you don't get it at all).

Your results will depend on your proximity to the station (I am relatively close).

            Very happy with my purchase.

              Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

I had enough of the huge satellite bills and decided to go with NetFlix and Amazon Prime for movies and TV shows, but found myself missing certain tv shows...was reading reviews and thought I would give this a try. I live in the middle of no where and was actually surprised that I pulled in 7 channels, let alone the fact that the 7 that come in are so dang crystal clear, the pic seems better than pay tv! Wish I got more channels, but was not even really expecting this many....set up was a breeze! For those that live near a big city...this product should def meet your expectations!

                Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

I connected this to my TV set and after doing a scan I had 21 HD channels to view for only the cost of this antenna!
I had origionally switched my TV input to AIR and didn't have any channels. After running the scan, I had access to the HD channels. I note this just so people can try one more step if they can't receive any channels.
Additionally, I have this sitting on a fireplace mantle which I thought would block reception due to the large mass of the chimney, but it didn't seem to affect things.

                Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

I've been thinking about cutting the cord with DirectTV, but still wanted to be able to access the local stations. I'm about 35 miles away from my local towers so I was a bit skeptical if this would actually grab a good signal. To my surprise it does great. I'm able to pull in 32 stations. Most importantly NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox. I would definitely recommend trying this cheaper model before another more expensive one.

                  Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

I live outside Denver, past suburbia, and was told I needed an amplified antenna and even then it may not work. This basic antenna works great. I have one on an exterior wall, and one in the middle of my house. In the middle, I lose a couple of weaker signals (shopping or church channels), but I still get all networks and about 45+ other channels I'll never watch.

Don't get sucked in by features unless you really need them - this works great.

                  Comments about RadioShack HDTV Antenna:

It's a set of rabbit ears, with a UHF loop. It's as simple as they come, and works as well as they did since the invention of rabbit ears in the 40's or 50's. It's intended for short distance reception, and is not for someone living in the boonies, or with multipath problems, where a more directional antenna system would make more sense. Forget amplified rabbit ears, as amplifying a noisy signal just gives you a stronger noisy signal, and is a waste of money. If you need a stronger signal, get an antenna with higher gain, i.e. more elements. For free OTA TV, this is about the cheapest way to go, if you're close enough to the transmitters. Oh, and don't get suckered by the 'digital antenna' nonsense - if it could receive analog television signals before the changeover (VHF channels 7-12 mostly, plus UHF), it'll receive digital television signals now. Which it does just fine.

I don't have cable and use a Roku (for Hulu Plus, Netflix, etc) for most of my TV viewing. I wanted to see if I could actually pick up some channels for when I want to watch a program "live" or news in the morning. I purchased this "budget" antenna and also the Amplified HDTV Antenna ($35) to see which would work better. The other one is going back. This one has a much stronger signal and my channels are clear. I picked up all the networks channels, 13 total channels, for less than half the price of the more expensive one!
