Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: I have Just got this. And i Am Not Impressed. I Have no tall Obstructions. Just kinda far from broadcasting Towers. All the Channels Show Snow....

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: With money so tight, I had to drop satellite and internet. I was going through TV withdrawl until I learned all I needed was this inexpensive antenna. I bought it, figuring I had nothing to lose (I was told I could return it if it didn't work). I am fairly close to the TV towers, so I get all the major networks and several smaller ones. I do sometimes get interference or lose signal since I use it in a room with no outside walls or windows. I do wish the cable was longer so I could place it nearer to a window (in the next room), but for the price, I'm happy.

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: I had a small old analog- converted to digital TV- only over the air in my kitchen; replaced it with a new small flat screen, and my old antenna was worthless. I thought it was the TV, but I tried this and get all the channels. Well worth the money.

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: I bought this about an hour ago specifically for the ravens/49ers game. I thought I would buy the cheapest antenna for a one time use... I have a flat screen that I connect to a laptop. However the picture is so clear and consistent I'll be sure to make the most this affordable purchase.

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: Made a parabolic antenna out of tin foil. 8 channels with great strength. Bought this and 0 channels. None. Zip. Popped it open and wired my tin foil antenna to it. 0 channels. Took the round antenna that comes with it and directly connected it to coaxial and got 4 channels. Whatever circuits/combiners that are in it are killing all signals.

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: If you are asking yourself for the money can this really work? I will tell you it can and does. I am in Los Angeles County and have tried other Antennas for more money and after having to use electricity to power them I was no better off. I was also pleasantly surprized at how many channels I got and many in HD. If you are a casual t.v watcher or just do not wash to pay to view tv then this is for you. There might be better ones out there but for the price and for the ease of use you 100% can't go wrong. It truly is the best of both worlds.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: The store clerk told me this wouldn't work, and that he had never sold one that was not returned. Good thing I read the reviews beforehand! It works exactly as advertised, and is perfect for my need, which is as a supplement to DISH. I was not interested in the higher priced models the clerk was trying to upsell to me.

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: I purchased an Antennacraft Omnidirectional Antenna and this product worked even better than the more expensive brand. I picked up more channels than the Antennacraft. Don't waste your time on the more expensive antennas unless you live far away from the tower. I live about 14mi away and was able to pick up 46 channels.
Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: Live ~20 miles north of Seattle and pick up 20+ channels - some in HD. What I care about - ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, FOX, KCPQ, KSTW - happy camper. Crystal clear and no dropouts. The unit comes w/ a 4ft coax cable. Attached an additional 20 ft coax (don't use a splitter - it will 1/2 your signal strenght) I just used a female/female connector for the extension. It took some finessing to find the best reception area. You'll have to try different areas and use the "rescan for new channels" on your tv. Try scanning in different antenna placements within your house - depending on your cable length and logistics. I was able to lock in 31 channels. After locking in the most channels call it good. I don't get all 31- some will drop out but they are channels I don't care about. And a simple adjustment of the ears will most often fine tune it enough to lock in what you want. My big gun channels that I really care about require no fiddling and are rock solid. I put the antenna next to a north facing window - tv is on second floor of house. Very surprised on crystal clear reception since the TV towers are all south of me. Listen people - this little cheapo unit will do you the solid. Results will vary - it's not the antenna - it is your logistics and environment. Be patient, have ample cable length and try different placement spots. I seemed to have found the sweet spot in our house - you will too. It is a rabbit ear so it's not stealthy looking. I've got mine routed under our bathroom door and placed on a window above our tub so it is pretty much out of main stream site and out of mind. The hype on more expensive antennas is out-of-wack in my opinion. Keep it simple - rabbit ears have merit - time tested and effective. You'll be proud when you cut your cable (and $100+ bill like I did)! Pros

Comments about RadioShack Budget TV Antenna: I quit cable and use this antenna. It has been great getting the major networks and some others. I live in NJ close to NYC so the signal strengths are pretty good. Give it a try, you can't go wrong. If you miss your cable shows, Hulu & network sites will fill that need.
