Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: Use an 8 foot ground rod and #6 wire to breaker box for a "To Code" electrical ground.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: If you do not want the hassle of an 8 foot rod, use 2 four foot rods, installed approx 4 feet apart and daisy chained with braided copper. Works as well as one 8 foot rod.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: Use an 8 ft. ground rod instead. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: Wanted to assure the safety of my antenna. Antenna is on the opposite side of the house from my electric service, so a separate ground was more cost effective than running 10ga wire all the way around the house. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: is and doe s what its advetised to do. Of course it wont protect against a direct elctrical hit It does the job of bleeding off static build up. I use it to protect control circuit board on electric gate device Pros

Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: The other reviewers pointed out that this an ilegal grounding rod and so on. It's only 4' long instead of at least 8 and it's thin. Therefore it is insufficient for use as a grounding rod. For your house, that is. Pros

Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: Do it right the first time for the same money. This ground rod is a violation of the NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE and UNSAFE!!!! Go to [...] and buy an 8 ft. min ground rod for less $$$/ Tap it in to the earth and attach a # 6 bare wire to it with a proper connector. It costs no more to be safe....maybe less. Absolutely less if you factor in injuries or a fire in your house. I am an electrician for a living. Please do not use this rod. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: This so called grounding rod is NOT effective and is NOT legal in most municipalities. Get at least one 8 foot rod, some #6 gauge solid copper wire and do it right! If you aren't familiar with local electrical codes, hire an electrician or someone who is! Pros

Comments about RadioShack® Economy 4-Ft. Ground Rod: OK for limited Ground requirements. I'd recommend 8' to 10' of 1/2" or 5/8" ground rod available at local hardware or electrical suppliers. Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » |
