    • Cat toy

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

I purchased one of these probably 8 years ago as a toy for my cats. They absolutely love it still to this day. It works great. The only thing is that after a few years, something went a little wrong with it and when you press the button the laser is a little faded and jumpy. But if you wiggle the button it will fix itself. I think it's just from being used so much that the connection got a little loose. Otherwise, works great and hardly drains the batteries at all. I'd highly recommend it for meetings too. It really does shoot the beam really far. When I lived in an apartment, I'd shoot the laser out my window at night and see how many buildings down I could still see the laser on, and often shot it in my neighbors windows to freak them out. haha

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

I use the laser pen to follow pantograph patterns for quilting. But I can't get the button to keep working. I have taped it down and even held it down but it keeps flickering off and on. Some thing wrong with the button. I don't use it a lot and don't leave the batteries in it at all. I paid a lot of money for this. I have already messed up several times and have to rip it out. I guess I'm going to have to find another one. I like the style and easy to attach to my quilting machine. But that does not matter if it won't stay on.

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

Excellent collimation. Overpriced, but power better than most legals. Preferred the previous all black housing. Switch is a little noisy - cats can identify it 100ft away.
!*!*!*!* Power is high enough to actually damage the eye (evaluated by ophthalmologist friend.) This is good but demands caution.

It is a good laser but the price needs to go down a lot. Also the green laser as well.

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

I just hacked this, I ripped all that was inside of it out and save the left overs for another project, I gussied it up with a 200mW green laser module and a nice switch, etc so now it is a super laser.

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

i donr understan d what people are trying to say when they write "low signal" its not a remote or an accesory for playing videogames. its a laser pointer its supposed to make a red dot appear on your wall or wherever you point it. it does not have a signal. anyhow... its great and can be modified, i changed the light color and effect on mine. and with a couple ofadustments it can light a ciggar or a simple match. i have like 8 lasersand besides my spartan(strongest laser in the world), it the only one i would use outdoors to play with my cat. yo can try with dogs but they are too clumbsy and usually dont chase the dot, cats are smaller and quicker and more likely to chase after the dot. have fun... xp

Comments about RadioShack Pen-Style Laser Pointer:

This is a very good laser poniter, and when its in a breast pocket it can easily be mistaken as a pen, however radioshack needs to stop raising the price, [...] However it is very durable, occasionally this item will go on sale [...]. That is a great price for an item like this. This item makes a great gift for the teacher or college professor.
