Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: Short 8" stero cable with a male 90 degree connector on one end that fits nicely into my MP3 Player and a female connector on the other end like an extension cable with a volume wheel in the middle.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: I have purchased 5-10 of these in my lifetime. They all break - it's just a matter of time. The "NEW" gold plated version is a just a money grab from Radio Shack. Plus, I now have to pull the plug halfway out of my iPod so that both R and L channels will play. If I plug it in all the way, only one channel plays, and I've tried this on an iPod, my phone, and my computer. It's annoying.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: Devices like this are nearly impossible to find "over the counter". I don't like sending away unless forced to. This headphone volume control is very small to the touch. That detracts somewhat from operating it. On my computer, it doesn't totally cut the volume, but it does what I need it to do _ control the volume. Radio shack was the only place in my area that had such a device. Therefore, it gets high marks just for being available.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: I tried it while still at Radio-Shack and even they could not get it to work so I tried another one and I'v used it three times and now my music breaks up.I think there is a loose wire inside the unit because I tried it with other ear buds and it does the same thing.I'm going to try the white one w/a long cord,it's a dollar more w/a diff manufacturer

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: I liked them when they were under $5, and I needed a volume control because my cell phone's audio jack was too loud. However, I can not bring myself to buy a [$] volume control for a $20 set of headphones.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: My friend had this ear phones and he let me try them. They really are awesome. My music sound great, it blocks out the out side noise. I love them in the car so I can tune out my little sister. Now some of my family members are going to get a pair. These are really great.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: This unit seems to always break one channel after a short time of use. Then you will get crackling and loss of audio. It's a shame because not many volume controls like this have short leads, and I record from line out with a long cable already and all I need is a pot in the circuit. It's not inexpensive, but it's made quite cheaply, as you'll see when you get it out of the package. Not up to usual RS standards.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: I use this while riding my motorcycle because we all know song volumes vary greatly. I have used this for about 4,000 miles of riding and it has held up great. No loose connections or breaking wires. It is not in my pocket while riding, either. It just blows in the wind.

Comments about RadioShack Gold-Plated Volume Control Cable for Stereo Headphones: This was a great fix for my too-loud MP3 player. However, after one year the 90 degree connection did flake out and I have to get another one. A removeable clip on the volume control so you can attach it to something sould help. To improve: get rid of the gold plating so it is cheaper, volume clip, make connection to device a straight connection, not 90 degrees.
