Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

I had one of these cables for quite awhile. I used it only when sitting close to my guitar amp. It Lasted about five years before it just stopped working. I bought another one and use it occasionally. There is some slight signal loss with these cables but acceptable enough for quiet practice or lessons. Would never use one for live performance or recording.

I had difficulty getting the plastic-molded 1/4" phone plugs to make a good connection with my standard Telecaster. If the jacks were quality metal I think the cord work much better.

Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

All of the cons are about expected length. Law does not allow a vendor to use descriptions of supposed use ability.
The full uncoiled length of the cable is 15'. Once coiled the useful length decreases by inches with each coil. Thus after regulation the length is approx... "much less"). Though I know this I'm still caught by the ambiguity too but there's not much to do with it. The actual functionality is excellent and the right angle 1/4" plugs really protect the connection between the amp and guitar very very well. Be informed, and not disappointed.

Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

this cord is dope. I use it for longer runs between pedals, specifically I use 2 of these to play an expression pedal in a delay pedal's effects loop & its the best there is for that. if you bought this to plug straight into your amp you got what you deserve. 15 ft is the length of the wire & with a pretty tight coil its about 3 ft at best, but that's all i need it to be. I hope they make these forever.

Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

Performance wise - this is a solid cable.

It is stiff, and that makes a technically 15 foot cable useable to AT MOST 10 feet. If that fits the bill, then by all means. It does the job for me - I don't tend to wander too far from the amp and it keeps the cable off the floor where I won't step on it. Small enough to fit in the case with my bass.

Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

Once, coiled cords were the standard. No more. Now they are "boutique" items for the retro crowd. But the reality is that many situations would benefit from a short, coiled, inexpensive cord with decent tone -- voila. I agree that the length spec is a joke but I use a whole bunch of these cables at their coiled length or only slightly stretched, they work great with those constraints, the right angle plug is useful (I have numerous ES type semi hollow gtrs) and the price is hard to argue with. Unfortunately stretching them to reach anywhere near 15 ft degrades or kills the signal, so maybe rebag them as 8 ft cords and have a 5-star winner all around.

i bought this cable and thoght i would be able to walk 15ft from my amp but i couldn't becuase the cable doesn't strech. i had my amp on my bed and couldn't get off the bed unless i wanted the cord to snap back and hit me in the leg. i tryed to strech it but a few seconds later it was back to normal.

Comments about RadioShack 15-Ft. Coiled Cable 1/4"" to 90° 1/4"" Plug:

I play guitar in a small area and needed a coiled cable. I saw this one in radio shack and bought it. I wish I hadn't. Even though I'm in a small area, I still need a cable that stretches at least 10 to 12 ft. This cable barely stretches 8ft. before causing serious tension. I tried loosening it by stretching it out with my hands, but it just coiled back up, nice and stiff. I haven't really owned it long enough to say if it's reliable, but I can definitely say that it is impractical. If you need a coiled cable or any type of musical equipment go to a music store to get it.

The only way these would actually span 15' is if you welded one end to a beam on the ceiling and then swung from the other end. I'd estimate their usable length at maybe 5'. Buyer beware.
