Comments about RadioShack Hexagonal Control Knob: I have telephone line switch, knob was broken, I found this knob, fit it perfectly, appear very nice and good design except very small screw, little trouble to tighten it
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Hexagonal Control Knob: The selection of knobs on the website is quite small and I figured this to be a run of the mill 1/4" shaft knob and didn't check the specs as well as I might and so cannot use these. They are Huuuge. Perhaps a product image next to a quarter or something similar for idiots like me would save the trouble.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Hexagonal Control Knob: Convenient knobs with the weakest set screws I've ever seen. I installed three on stepper motors for a CNC table and broke two of the set screws. The second one I purposely didn't over-tighten and the third I stopped tightening at the first sign of resistance.

Comments about RadioShack Hexagonal Control Knob: This knob has seven, not six, flats. (But aside from indicating tech-writer competence, what's in a word now that we have "13-pin octal" sockets? :-).) The odd number of sides is actually ergonomically better than an even number: The standard grasp is thumb and forefinger on top, thumb on bottom and between them, in a triangle. A hexagon does not support that grasp.

Comments about RadioShack Hexagonal Control Knob: This is a good quality knob with an aluminum insert and 2 Allen set screws. The finish of the plastic is excellent, but the index marks are just a bit crude. The corners of the flats are just a bit too sharp for repeated high torque uses, but they would be fine for most applications. I wish the finish of the index marks was better, because this is such a nice knob otherwise.
