I planned on using two to make an RC car but when I used 12volts on one of them, it's performance drastically dropped, but it still works! I guess I could use it for the turning part, but definitely not the driving force. Otherwise, a great buy for the price.
Maybe they'll get in some drill-power motors?

I bought this to make a prototype solar-powered boat. It works great. However, it requires at least 0.25amps to spin it with no-load. It goes up to about 1.5amps full load. A single solar panel was incapable of spinning it no-load (I bought the PV from the Shack as well). Just be warned, you'll need about 5 6v/50ma PV's just to spin this thing at no load! Batteries, though, work great!

I used the product in re-motoring a larger HO scale Locomotive. I used two of the motors, one for each gearbox and at first I thought the motors would not have a sufficient amount of torque but what the lacked in torque they made up for in RPMs. Over all I am happy with the product.

Used 2 of these on a physics project. The only trouble is when they have a big load they draw massive power (up to 1.5 Amp) and kill batteries quickly.

The answer for me was to "gear-down" the motor so it had more torque and less speed - then they worked incredibly well. I used a small rubber gromit from Lowe's as a pulley - it pushed onto the gear nicely and let me use rubber-bands to transfer the power from the motor through variously sized pullies and into my project.

This motor is great for just about any use.
It has very low internal friction, allowing it to run for hours on end without wear.
I've powered it with up to 9 volts and it doesn't even stink (unlike most motors do when too much power is used).
very common gear size, making it adaptable to many situations.
