    bad for Solar...no wattage listed

Comments about RadioShack 1.5 to 3VDC Hobby Motor:

how many watts does this motor use? 2.5W of 6V solar panel will not run it! Wish it had published the wattage. Even a 1.5v AA battery (that runs it fine) then connect to an amp meter would not turn it.

For its size it is too demanding!

Comments about RadioShack 1.5 to 3VDC Hobby Motor:

I combined this product with an motor shield with Arduino it has worked very well with the rover that I built. But, I had to double up the gear boxes in order to have to rover move up hill. But, it is cost-effective and a generally helpful general-use motor.

Comments about RadioShack 1.5 to 3VDC Hobby Motor:

Not much torque with these lil dudes. I'd mount the motor on a board with the shaft sticking up, put an umbrella into a cocktail straw, stick the straw on the shaft, and press go! You get what you pay for and [$] ain't much. This could be a great little doo dad to put into a Rube Goldberg device. If you want power, you'll have to web search for "high torque" "small motor"

This is great for kids to adults to get started experimenting with it such as making hovercrafts with Styrofoam. Also makes a good motor for a low voltage fan for the summertime. Makes a great motor for solar power supply projects.
