Comments about RadioShack 1.5 to 3VDC Hobby Motor: I combined this product with an motor shield with Arduino it has worked very well with the rover that I built. But, I had to double up the gear boxes in order to have to rover move up hill. But, it is cost-effective and a generally helpful general-use motor.

Comments about RadioShack 1.5 to 3VDC Hobby Motor: Not much torque with these lil dudes. I'd mount the motor on a board with the shaft sticking up, put an umbrella into a cocktail straw, stick the straw on the shaft, and press go! You get what you pay for and [$] ain't much. This could be a great little doo dad to put into a Rube Goldberg device. If you want power, you'll have to web search for "high torque" "small motor"
