Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 2.33V 270mA Replacement Flashlight Bulb (2-Pack): I gave this bulb 4 stars because it does what it is supposed to do and the price is good. That said I do not recommend it for most people because it burns out very quickly, I suspect because it is rated for only 2.33 volts whereas two NIMH rechargeable batteries are 2.6v and alkaline would be even higher around 3.0v. I have inserted a diode in my flashlight to drop the voltage a few tenths of a volt and will see if this improves the bulb life. It did make the bulb dimmer (it is very bright at 2.6v) but I would rather have it dimmer and last longer than a few hours.
