Perfect for what I needed. I have a handle powered dynamo flashlight called a "Scruncher". You pump it with your hand, and it lit up pretty good, but it would fade quickly. Well, the handle broke after 22 days. Hunk-a-junk. But I liked it, and fixed it, and it broke again the next day!!! Unfixable.
BUT, everything else still worked...sooooo, how about converting it to batteries??? So, I did. I got this AAA holder as it added the batteries in series. Three, 1.2v AAA, for 3.6v. The same voltage as the small original rechargeable battery. I gutted the rechargeable "girly" (40ma) battery, as well as the dynamo, and soldered this holder on to the switch. Put in the 800mah AAA batteries and IT WORKED!!!! (I have some 1100mah coming!!!)
It is BRIGHTER than when the Scruncher was fully pumped up for 1 minute!! And I have a Rechargeable Flashlight for only a couple bucks more. Bright enough to see 30ft. outside, and light my bedroom or living room. Only about 5-6 lumen, but usable.
I have used it 5 days so far, with limited use, without recharging, and it is just as bright, I can read good sized print on a box 6 feet away. This AAA Holder did the trick!!! And it fits inside the flashlight, where 3 AA would not. PERFECT for me!!

Only one con...batteries get easily pushed out of it, you might wrap it with a rubber band. Not a big deal.

Used this as a power source to test a batch of LEDs ... worked perfectly. Plastic seems a bit flimsy, and doubt I would use it in production, but for testing purposes, it's great.

Plastic case deforms easily - after about a week you'll need to wrap tape around the holder to keep the batteries in place.

Works well with my mini robotics project. I really needed a battery holder that would fit in a small place.

I used this on a project for only a week and the plastic started springing open on the sides such that the batteries were not held reliably. A bit disapointing.
I would recommend the box cases RS sells.
