I bought that adapter in store. When used for the headphones, the right side sound level is lower than the left side. In addition, the left side get both the left and right sound.
When used for a mic only, it simply don't work.

I used this to Tie my Turtle Beach headphones into my receiver so i did not have to purchase the xbox 360 adapter cord for $50. It works great, i get awesome stereo sound and i could not be happier.

IF the picture is correct, the description isn't.
It's a pix of 1/4" MALE Stereo PLUG and other end accepts a 1/8" stereo FEMALE plug (this end of adapter is a Socket (also called a receptacle).
Who writes this stuff? Duh!

I have a Sound Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion and they only gave me one of these to use for either just a mic or headphones so thank you radioshack for carring the gold plated so I went off and got two of them since they have the grip peace to pull it out. :)
