The wire always breaks at the end of the 1/2" reinforcement. I now put some duct tape at that point on a new one. That helps a little. Lasts about six months.

This is the only mono earbud on the market whereby I can plug it into my Ipod for podcast listening while my hubby is beside me fast asleep. When we travel we stop at Radio Shacks to see if the earbud is stocked. For the most part, it is not stocked and I wish it were! I found one yesterday in Pontiac, IL and you would have thought I found a million dollars! The gal said they are always available and I guess they are ONLINE. Which is a relief!

Don't need ear adapter .. the wire is TOO thin and easily gets worn at the plug in end...then have to hold/wiggle wire to hear....frustrating. Also most stores don't hav it in stock. But the design is great especially at night in bed listening...until the wire breaks...

Simple, cheap way to listen to audio at work, while leaving one ear open to hear when coworkers approach. I like to combine it with the 1/8" Stereo Plug to 1/8" Mono Plug Adapter
(Model: 274-0374) so I can listen to music without losing one stereo channel.

The wiring is sort of flimsy, and I often have to jiggle it after plugging or unplugging to get the audio back. Eventually, it just wears out. But it's so cheap to replace that I don't mind.

Fits our limited budget.

Unfortunately, they don't hold up to frequent use by officers. Partly because of inexpensive materials and manufacturing of earphones and partly because of negligent care by officers.

This product comes with a detachable ear loop to hang over your ear, and a small adapter I don't use. 3.5mm plug for standard radio speaker microphones etc.For [$] I can't complain. These are great for light use daily or disposable regular use, or as a backup in case more expensive gear gets ruined. Janitors on a radio system will love these... dump them in water, drop them, tear them, destroy them, and [$] later, you have another. If you're careful with it, it will last a long time. I've read other reviews where they've said the audio isn't so hot; I'll tell you straight: I've haven't had any problems with audio. In fact, the chief complaint from users is that it is too loud and they have to turn their radios down low. Audio is crisp (lots of treble, almost zero bass) and as clean as it can be from the radios. If Radio Shack repackaged the earpiece and put a sturdier wire on it, they could sell this thing for $30 easily.
