Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: This thing is so easy to use a cave man could do it, though it is the most expensive piece of plastic I have ever bought (for its' size and what it is for) and I needed 2 of them. Just needed something quickly for a project, and went to expensive on ease, though it works great. Had to mark it down for the price and I wouldn't recommend it only because of that.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: Notice someone said they were having problems with the wiring. My 10 year old grandson wired this thing correctly.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: MUCH TRIAL AND ERROR TO "MATE" TO EXISTING PHONE LINES. I SOLVED IT AS FOLLOWS: 1) GREEN TELEPHONE LINE: TO R1, 2) BLACK TELEPHONE LINE: TO R2, 3) YELLOW TELEPHONE LINE: TO T2, 4) RED TELEPHONE LINE: TO T1.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: Just bought a couple of these, and noticed that the chart on the package claims to provide the "USOC wire color" -- there is such a thing as USOC wiring, but it is not used for CAT-5 computer network wiring, and if you did wire using USOC, it wouldn't work anyway.

Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: I saw someone gave a 1 star. I think this was to his experience in the store. This is a very easy to use adaptor. I recently moved out of a bedroom which had been my office so that all of my kids could have their own bedroom. I took our front room as family office (6 computers). I purchased a single 6 port wall plate (Radio Shack #278-2009) and used two for RF ports (1 for Cable Modem only, one for TV), two for ehternet (one for house ethernet, one for ethernet cameras) and two for telephone. Oddly enough the most difficult part of this was the RF cables are rigged and needed to be pre-planned in the wall box (which I did). Once they were in place, everything worked as expected! Took about an hour to wire everything.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: Works as designed, so glad it had the included punch-down tool...was traveling to family over the holiday and was able to punch down the jack to get their network running and didn't have to use my wiring tool kit!

Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: Easy to install. Had 4 of these before, added two more. As always, does exactly what it says. Only issue I had was with the employees; I ordered this off the website because I thought it wasn't in the store. Turns out that the very product I had asked about in the store was what I wanted. The employee had no idea what I was asking for, and told me it wouldn't work for what I wanted. Since the name of the product had changed since the last time I'd bought it, and since I couldn't get a good view of it through the plastic, I believed him, and wasted money on shipping. Also, make sure you wire them consistently, as that's really more important than following the color code. Even if you wire it completely differently from what the colors indicate, it'll work as long as you do it the same way each time.

Comments about RadioShack Snap-In Category 5e RJ-45 Jack: The RJ45 PLug Terminations are easy. But! Two ways to wire it. Neither way gets the circuit completed. NO COMMUNICATION to obtain Internet to PC or Laptop. For another words - upon complete wiring of the terminal in any pattern according to the schematic NO COMMUNICATION. I went to local store in Ocala,Fla on Silver Springs Blvd and ask man there and he had no idea what it was or what to do. NO HELP GIVEN.
